It’s the end of the year, and I just spent more than ten minutes simply sorting out the domain names in my account to see if they need to be renewed. Generally, I sort out the domain names that need to be renewed in the next year at the end or beginning of each year. But have we found that the registration and renewal costs of domain names are relatively expensive nowadays.
How do we deal with such high domain name costs? Is there an effective way to reduce domain name costs? Here Lao Zuo briefly talks about his views.
1. Delete domain name holdings
As self-media continues to become more mainstream, we have seen that website traffic on PC search engines is decreasing, and the demand for domain names is also decreasing. Even if we are building a website, we do not need to register or purchase an expensive short domain name. We can directly register a triple domain name or a combination of domain names. Therefore, we do not need to invest in so-called valuable domain names. Of course, if there is a particularly good domain name, we can sell it as soon as possible. There is no need to keep it. Reduce costs by reducing the number of domain names you hold, and you can also monetize them in advance.
2. Pay attention to domain name promotions
We can pay attention to the preferential activities of the service provider where this domain name is located. For example, the full discount I used before is a one-time renewal of the domain name for five years. Compared with the cost, it is still cost-effective. Or you can reduce costs by transferring service providers. Our transfer service provider will require a one-year renewal, which is cheaper than direct renewal. Some friends said that we don’t like to put it in other service providers. We can transfer and renew it after 60 days.
In short, with the popularity of the self-media era and the recent adjustments we have seen in search engines, it is also necessary for us to streamline the number of websites. Or you can transition to the self-media industry.
